There are some things that sneak up on you...

Artie was working with his nurse and of course she was working on chewing. Now with the chewing protocol you place the tube in his mouth between the back teeth and tell him to chew. When he does you say "good job"! If he doesnt you tell him "chew like this" and demonstrate it.

Well his nurse didnt have a straw so she stuck her finger in her mouth and demonstrated saying "chew like this" and proceeded to chomp on her finger.

He looked at her a moment and then giggled and smiled (as big as you can smile with a tube in your mouth between your molars!) and promptly stuck his finger in his mouth and chewed on it! Dont tell me he doesnt understand what you are saying...

He is more alert and understands more than people give him credit for. I found out quite by accident that he can identify farm animals and zoo animals.

He knows things he is not telling me...LOL!
